What is the International Ifugao Ammungan?

The International Ifugao Ammungan is a global cultural event that gathers Ifugaos from all around the world every 2-3 years. Established in 2017, it serves as a meaningful occasion to reconnect, celebrate, and pass on the rich cultural traditions of the Ifugao people. "Ammungan" means "gathering," and this event is designed to be just that—a gathering of Ifugaos to preserve our traditions and create connections that transcend borders.

Through traditional performances, cultural showcases, and key programs, the Ammungan is more than just an event; it is a homecoming—a shared celebration of our heritage and a way to inspire future generations to carry our culture forward.

Message from Founder

Dear Fellow Ifugaos and Friends,

It is with great pride and heartfelt excitement that I welcome you to the 3rd International Ifugao Ammungan, to be held in Sydney, Australia, from April 10th to 12th, 2026. Since its inception in 2017, the International Ifugao Ammungan has been a beacon of unity and a celebration of our rich cultural heritage. It was created with a vision to bring together Ifugaos from all corners of the world, to honor, preserve, and pass on the traditions that define who we are as a people.

The theme for our 2026 gathering, “Pun O Oh Haan ya Pun Am Amlongan He E' En Di Immipuggo ad Australia,” which translates to “United Celebrating Ifugao Culture in Australia,” captures the essence of our shared journey. This event is more than a gathering; it is a testament to the enduring spirit of the Ifugao community and our commitment to keeping our cultural identity alive for generations to come.

As we prepare to come together in Sydney, let us celebrate our unity, our heritage, and the connections that bind us. I invite each one of you to join us in this momentous event—to relive traditions, reconnect with fellow Ifugaos, and embrace new friendships as we celebrate the culture that makes us uniquely Ifugao.

Together, let’s make the 3rd International Ifugao Ammungan not just an event, but a homecoming—a celebration that honors our past, unites us in the present, and inspires our future.

Warmest regards,

JULIET DUGYON Founder, International Ifugao Ammungan
